Six from MAAC Men's Basketball Named to NABC All-District Teams

KANSAS CITY, MO – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2018-19 NABC Division I All-District Teams. NABC member coaches recognized six MAAC men's basketball student-athletes.
 
Cameron Young of Quinnipiac University and Jalen Pickett of Siena College earned NABC All-District 1 First Team honors. Takal Molson from Canisius College, E.J. Crawford and Rickey McGill from Iona College, and Marvin Prochet from Niagara University made the Second Team All-District in District 1.
 
Young was the unanimous Player of the Year in the MAAC this season and was a unanimous First Team All-MAAC selection. Young established a new single-game MAAC scoring record with 55 points against Siena in a triple-overtime Quinnipiac win. The Los Angeles native also set a new Division I scoring record at Quinnipiac with 728 points.
 
Pickett took home Rookie of the Year honors, which he was the unanimous choice. The first-year Saint claimed a conference record 11 Rookie of the Week honors. The Rochester, New York native averaged 16.1 points, 6.4 assists, and 2.1 steals this season when he was also named First Team All-MAAC becoming the first freshman since Lionel Simmons in 1986-87 to make the first team as a freshman.
 
Canisius’s Molson was named First Team All-MAAC after leading the Golden Griffins and ranking third in the MAAC at 16.9 per game. Crawford and McGill, both First Team All-MAAC selections, helped Iona win a fourth consecutive MAAC Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Prochet averaged 15.7 points and 7.3 rebounds for Niagara in his senior season.
