Men's Track Performer of the Week
Amir Khaghani, Manhattan
Sr., Bethesda, MD/Walt Whitman
Khaghani won the men's 5000M at the VCU Ram Invite on Friday, March 22. The senior recorded a time of 15:02.24, more than a minute faster than his closest competitor. This time stands as the fastest outdoor mark in the MAAC this season.
Women's Track Performer of the Week
Egle Morenaite, Iona
So., Klaipeda, Lithuania/ Priekules levos Simonaitytes Gymnasium
Sophomore Egle Morenaite won the 1500M at the Stony Brook Season Opener on Saturday, March 23. She crossed the finish line in 4:30.03, the fastest time of a MAAC competitor who competed in the event over the weekend. This mark is also the fastest outdoor time in the MAAC.
Men's Field Performer of the Week
Chris Woodhouse, Manhattan
Sr., Staten Island, NY/Staten Island Technical
Woodhouse won the men's pole vault at the VCU Ram Invite on Saturday, March 23. The senior reached a height of 4.20 meters and finished in first by a margin of .90 meters.
Women's Field Performer of the Week
Lisa Warfvinge, Manhattan
Fr., Varberg, Sweden/Peder Skrivares School
Warfvinge finished in fourth place in the women's long jump at the VCU Ram Invite on March 23. In her first collegiate outdoor competition, she hit a distance of 5.39 meters. She was also a member of the women's 4x100 team that collected a fourth place finish at VCU with a time of 48.59.
