Quinnipiac’s Martin and Fairfield’s Lopez-Senechal Pick Up Final Pepsi Zero MAAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Award Honors

Brittany Martin, Quinnipiac

Martin scored a career-high 20 points against Manhattan on Thursday and followed it up with an 18-point on Saturday at Siena. The senior shot 61% (14-23) from the floor and 70% (7-10) from three-point range. Martin pulled down four rebounds and dished out five assists as the Bobcats completed their second-straight unbeaten regular season in MAAC play.
Rookie of the Week
Lou Lopez-Senechal, Fairfield
Fr., Greboble, France/NABA Academy
Lopez-Senechal led the Stags with 20 points in their setback against Rider, her third 20-point game of the season. Seven of those points came in the fourth quarter to keep the game close. She also led the team with seven rebounds.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will take place March 7-11 at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY. The women’s first round, quarterfinal, and semifinal games will all be aired on ESPN3. The championship game is set for Monday, March 11 at 2:30 p.m. and will be aired on ESPNU.
