Quinnipiac’s Moore and Fairfield’s Nowak Named MAAC Tennis Weekly Award Winners
Men’s Player of the Week
Hielke Moore, Quinnipiac
So., Fredericton, New Brunswick/Fredericton High School
Moore earned both a singles and a doubles match win, helping power the Bobcats to a 5-2 win over Sacred Heart University last weekend in New Haven. Moore and teammate Patrick Cachapero have now won two-straight doubles matches together, and three total for the spring. They defeated Hosokawa/Sause of Sacred Heart 7-6 (5) in No. 2 doubles, then Moore downed Sause of Sacred Heart in No. 4 singles (6-2, 6-3).
Women’s Player of the Week
Amanda Nowak, Fairfield
Fr., Summerfield, NC/Northern Guilford
Against Stony Brook University, Nowak took home the win in No. 2 Singles over Nolwenn Cardoso (6-3, 4-6, 1-0) who had been undefeated this spring. Nowak then joined Aina March in taking down Nolwenn Cardoso and Maria Pinto Ribeiro 6-2 in No. 2 Doubles.
