MAAC Women’s Basketball All-Academic Team Announced

ALBANY, NY – The 2018-19 MAAC Women’s Basketball features 57 student-athletes from all 11 schools. To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
 
Fairfield University had a league-best nine players earn a spot on the All-Academic Team. Marist College and Quinnipiac University were second, with both schools having eight student-athletes earn spots.
 
Manhattan College had seven players make the list, while Niagara University and Rider University both had six players. Canisius College had four student-athletes named, Iona College, Niagara University, and Saint Peter’s University all had had three make the list. Siena College had one student-athlete named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.

The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships are taking place March 7-11 at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY. The women’s first round, quarterfinal, and semifinal games will all be aired on ESPN3. The championship game is set for Monday, March 11 at 2:30 p.m. and will be aired on ESPNU.
