Offensive Player of the Week
Allison Turturro, Monmouth
Jr., Sound Beach, NY/Miller Place
Turturro was Monmouth’s leading goal scorer in both conference wins this week. For the week, Turturro had seven draw controls, seven ground balls, scored on three of four free position attempts and had 11 of her 12 shots on goal, with 10 of them going for goals. On Wednesday she tied a career-high with five goals in the win over Iona, with all five of her shots landing in the back of the net. She also added three ground balls and three draw controls in the win over the Gaels. The junior once again scored five goals three days later in Monmouth’s win over Marist on Saturday.
Defensive Player of the Week
Emma Kaishian, Manhattan
Sr., Yorktown, NY/Yorktown
Kaishian stuffed the stat sheet during Manhattan's 2-0 week. The senior moved into fourth place all-time in career ground balls, corralling six against Marist. She also caused a career-high eight turnovers, which are the second-most in a Division I game this season. On Saturday at Siena, Kaishian controlled a game-high five draws while adding a caused turnover and a ground ball. This year, Kaishian is top 10 in the MAAC in draw controls, caused turnovers and ground balls, leading the pack in the latter category with 3.73 per contest.
Rookie of the Week
Grace Lipponer, Manhattan
Fr., Lake Grove, NY/Sachem North
Lipponer posted three goals and two assists during Manhattan's 2-0 week. She notched an important insurance tally on Wednesday against Marist and added an assist on the final goal of the day. On Saturday, Lipponer scored twice to open the second half and earned an assist to lead the Jaspers in points. She has earned points in nine of her 11 games this year, and rides a four-game points streak.
