St. Francis Brooklyn’s Snelgar, VMI’s French, and Iona’s Schultz Named MAAC Water Polo Players of the Week
Offensive Player of the Week
Kelsey Snelgar, St. Francis Brooklyn

Snelgar etched her name in St. Francis Brooklyn history as she broke her own single-season scoring record. The sophomore has tallied 114 goals this season to lead the MAAC and rattled the cage 19 times in a 3-1 week for the Terriers. She began the week with seven goals and assist in a win over Nova, later that day she recorded four goals against undefeated Wagner. On Sunday, the sophomore rattled the cage five times in a win over La Salle and three times vs VMI.
Defensive Player of the Week
Isabel French, VMI
Jr., Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley
VMI junior Isabel French made 46 saves in four matches this weekend (2-2), with a 57.5 save percentage and two steals. The junior made 29 saves on Saturday, allowing a total of only 13 goals against La Salle and Siena.
Rookie of the Week
Jillian Schultz, Iona
Fr., Tinley Park, IL/ Mother McAuley
In a 3-1 week for Iona, freshman Jillian Schultz posted 16 goals on 30 shots and 12 kickouts drawn. She opened the weekend scoring twice with four kickouts drawn in Iona's 14-13 win over Siena. She later scored five times against Villanova in the victory. On Sunday, after a defeat to Wagner which saw the rookie score three times on four shots, with four more drawn kickouts, she concluded the weekend with a career-best six goals on nine shots against La Salle. Schultz leads the Gaels in MAAC play with 35 goals this season.
