MAAC Water Polo Championship Field Set
EDISON, NJ – The four teams that will compete for the 2019 MAAC Water Polo Championship are a repeat of last year’s tournament field. Wagner College, Marist College, Iona College, and Virginia Military Institute will have the opportunity to compete for a MAAC Championship.

Wagner (28-9, 13-1 MAAC) is the top seed after winning its fourth straight regular season title. Marist (21-14, 12-2) will be the No. 2 seed with Iona (14-16, 9-5) claiming the No. 3 seed. The No. 4 seed will be VMI (16-12, 6-8).
Last season, Wagner claimed its fifth straight MAAC Championship with a 10-7 win over Marist in the title game. Kimberly Watson collected MVP honors for the second straight in 2018. Wagner has beaten Marist in all five championship games during the run.
The first semifinal will be No. 1 Wagner versus No. 4 VMI at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. The Seahawks took both meetings from the Keydets this season by a combined score of 40-9. Wagner has made all 17 championships since 2003 while VMI is making its third appearance in a row.
No. 2 Marist and No. 3 Iona will follow at 2 p.m. Marist topped Iona 13-7 back on March 23 and 13-5 on Sunday to earn the season sweep. Marist is making its 16th straight appearance in the MAAC Championship and Iona is making its 17th straight trip.
