EDISON, NJ – The 2019 Women’s Tennis Championship field and seedings are confirmed. Heading to the MAAC Championship in West Windsor, New Jersey is the top seed Quinnipiac University (10-13, 6-0), No. 2 Fairfield University (12-7, 5-1), No. 3 Marist College (7-14, 4-2) and No. 4 Siena College (10-9, 3-3). The opening round of the championship is set for Saturday, April 27 at the Mercer County Tennis Center.

Quinnipiac enters the 2019 Women’s Tennis Championship as the No. 1 seed for the sixth-straight year. The Bobcats have won five-straight MAAC titles and are currently on a 53-conference game winning streak, the longest active streak in Division I tennis. The No. 2 seed is claimed by Fairfield, collecting only a single MAAC loss on the season. The Stags return to the MAAC Championship after missing the cut in 2018. Fairfield looks to make their first championship game appearance since 2014 and claim their first MAAC title since 2012.

Marist will head to West Windsor as the No. 3 seed, going 4-2 in MAAC play. The Red Foxes look for redemption after falling to Quinnipiac in last year’s championship as the No. 2 seed. Since the introduction of a four-team playoff in 2011, Marist has not missed a single postseason and has collected two titles. Siena was able to secure the No. 4 seed earlier in the week and will enter the postseason for the fourth consecutive year. The Saints look to claim their first MAAC title since the 2006 campaign. The team came close in 2017, defeating Marist 4-2 before falling to Quinnipiac 4-2 in the final game.

The 2019 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Championship will be held at Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, New Jersey. Semifinal action begins Saturday, April 27 with No. 1 Quinnipiac taking on No. 4 Siena and No. 2 Fairfield taking on No. 3 Marist. Both women’s semifinal matches are set to start at 10:00 a.m. The finals will take place the day after, April 28, with the women’s match beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the men’s match starting at 2:00 p.m. For more information on the 2019 MAAC Tennis Championships, visit maacsports.com/tennis.
