University at Albany Heads to Auburn for NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women’s Golf Champion, the University at Albany, is heading to Auburn, Alabama as announced tonight on the NCAA Women’s Golf Selection Show. The Auburn Regional will be played May 6-8, at Saugahatchee Country Club. Auburn University will serve as the host institution.
 
The Great Danes took home their second-straight and third-overall MAAC Women’s Golf Championship last week, shooting a 927 (+63) over the three-round championship. The Great Danes finished with all five golfers within the top 20, two of which made the top 10 and the 2019 Women’s Golf All-MAAC Team.
 
Helga Einarsdottir delivered Albany’s top performance at the 2019 MAAC Women’s Championship, finishing the weekend in second place with 228 (+10). Einarsdottir is joined by freshman-teammate Madison Walker on the Women’s Golf All-MAAC Team. At her first MAAC Championship, Walker ended tied for sixth after carding a +14. Albany’s head coach, Colleen Cashman-McSween, was named MAAC Coach of the Year for the second time in as many years.
 
The NCAA Division I Golf Finals will be held May 17-22 at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arizona. For more information on the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship, click here.
