Marist Wins MAAC Men's Lacrosse Regular Season Title
BUFFALO, NY – Marist College secured the 2019 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Regular Season Title with its win over Canisius College on Friday afternoon in a game televised on ESPNU.
Marist (8-6, 6-1 MAAC) topped Canisius (8-7, 4-3) 10-8 secure the program’s first regular season title since 2015. Joe Tierney accounted for two goals and two assists to lead the Red Foxes. Marist used a 5-0 scoring run that stretched from 10:10 of the third to 11:02 of the fourth to take a 10-6 lead.
The Red Foxes will be the top seed in the upcoming MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship, which will be hosted by Marist on May 2-4 at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field. The full field and remaining seeds will be known after the completion of the regular season on Saturday.
The two semifinals will be played on Thursday, May 2 at 4 and 7 p.m. The championship game will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4 live on ESPNU.
