Wagner (30-9) won its sixth straight MAAC Water Polo Championship with an 8-4 win over Marist (22-16) on Sunday. Wagner scored the final five goals of the first half after Marist struck first to take the lead for good.

• Wagner has beaten Marist in all six championship games during this run of titles.
• The title is the ninth MAAC Championship overall for the Seahawks.
• The Seahawks have won 12 straight games at the MAAC Championship.
• Kristy Donkin, who was named MVP, scored four times.
• Four other Seahawks provided a goal.
• Wagner secured the MAAC’s automatic berth into the 2019 NCAA Women’s Water Polo Championship. The selection show for the 2019 NCAA Women’s Water Polo Championship is Monday, April 29 at 8 p.m. on ncaa.com.

• Grace Doerfler opened the scoring at 6:11 of the first quarter.
• Justine Castro, Anais Mathes, and Ariana Singer also found the back of the net for the Red Foxes.
• Marist limited Wagner to no more than three goals in a period.
• The Red Foxes were making their 10th MAAC Championship Game appearance.
