Three MAAC Softball Players Named to Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team
EDISON, NJ – Three MAAC softball student-athletes were named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Softball Team, as selected by CoSIDA. The Google Cloud Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Brandi Coon of Marist College, Adriana Gambino of Manhattan, and Amanda Dodson of Siena were named to the District I First Team.
A senior infielder, Marist’s Coon holds a 3.88 GPA as a software development major. The Valhalla, New York native is batting .337 over 52 games for the Red Foxes with 18 RBI on 55 hits with 33 runs. Gambino of Manhattan, a native of Stamford, Connecticut, holds a 3.99 GPA as a civil engineering major. The junior outfielder hit .291 for the Jaspers this season, collecting 44 hits in 50 games with 16 RBI and 19 runs. Finally, junior catcher Amanda Dodson of Siena cumulated a 3.69 GPA as an accounting/business major. A native of Camarillo, California, Dodson batted .269 for the Saints through 42 games, grabbing 28 hits, 13 RBI, and nine runs.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (when selected) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
