Iona Men’s Golf and Saint Peter’s Jeffrey Peters Conclude Season at NCAA Regionals

EDISON, NJ – The Iona College men’s golf team and Jeffrey Peters of Saint Peter’s University finished their respective NCAA regionals Wednesday.
 
Iona at Pullman Regional:
 
The Gaels played three rounds at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Washington. Iona finished the regional with a team score of 902 (+62). Over the course of the regional, the Gaels birdied 31 holes.
 
All five players from Iona placed in the top 70, led by junior Oisin Devereux, who finished 61st at 219 (+9). Devereux finished tied for second at this year’s MAAC championships, earning a spot on the 2019 All-MAAC team.
 
Saint Peter’s Jeffrey Peters at Austin Regional:
 
The 2019 McLeod Trophy winner and MAAC Men’s Golf Most Outstanding Performer, Jeffrey Peters, wrapped up his play Wednesday at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas. Peters concluded the three-round regional by carding a 242 (+29). The sophomore recorded seven birdies over 54 holes.
 
The NCAA Men’s Golf Championship continues with the championship finals, which will be held at Blessings Golf Course in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with the University of Arkansas serving as the host institution. For more information visit, ncaa.com.
