MAAC Softball Players Receive NFCA Division I All-Region Honors

Edison, NJ – A total of 10 softball players from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) have received 2019 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I All-Region honors. The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s 10 regions with First, Second and Third-Team selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region vote on the teams, with all honorees now becoming eligible for the 2019 NFCA Division I All-America squads.
 
In the Northeast Region, Amanda Ulzheimer and Lauryn Rhinehart of Fairfield University were named to the First and Second Teams, respectively. Manhattan College’s Annie Moore was also named to the First Team, with the 2019 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year Lauren Pitney being named to the Second Team. Marist College rounded out the Northeast Region with Ali Milam and 2019 MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year Calista Phippen being named to the Second Team, and Kaley Coltrain being named to the third team.
 
From the Great Lakes Region, Monmouth University had two representatives make teams. The 2019 MAAC Pitcher of the Year Alyssa Irons was named to the Third Team along with teammate Lindsey Baron, the 2019 MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year. Joining them on the Third Team was the 2019 MAAC Player of the Year, Madysen Cossack of Siena College.
