Four MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Players Collect All-ECAC Honors

EDISON, NJ – Four women’s lacrosse players from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) have been named 2019 Division I All-Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) selections. Hailey Wagner of Marist College was named to the All-ECAC First Team, while Megan Beach of Fairfield University and Nicole Ceraso and Mackenzie Rendich of Monmouth University were named to the All-ECAC Second Team.
 
Wagner was named to the All-ECAC First Team after starting all 18 games for the Red Foxes, setting an NCAA record with 224 draw controls on the season. The senior finished third on the team with 48 points, scoring 36 goals and dishing out 12 assists. An All-MAAC First Team selection, Wagner recorded a point in all but one game for Marist, helping the Red Foxes advance to the semifinals of the 2019 MAAC Championship.
 
Beach was named to the All-ECAC Second Team after being named the 2019 MAAC Defender of the Year. Beach collected 25 ground balls on the year, adding 16 caused turnovers. The senior captain was the leader of a defensive unit that caused a MAAC leading 10.32 turnovers per game. Beach played a major role in Fairfield going undefeated in conference play and capturing the program’s second-straight MAAC Championship.
 
Ceraso and Rendich were named to the All-ECAC Second Team after a strong season for the Hawks. Ceraso was named the 2019 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, finishing the season with 45 assists and 39 goals for 84 points. The Massapequa, New York native finished her junior campaign by leading the Hawks into the 2019 MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship as the No. 2 seed, picking up two goals and two helpers in the semifinals. Rendich helped in leading the Monmouth defense, collecting 25 ground balls and causing 31 turnovers on the year. An All-MAAC First Team selection, the fifth-year student ended her college career with 79 ground balls, 66 caused turnovers, and 41 draw controls.
