Second-seeded Quinnipiac (28-27) scored three in the third, fifth, eighth innings and added two in the sixth to beat No. 5 Manhattan (26-32), 11-6, and advance to the championship series Sunday. Quinnipiac will play No. 3 Fairfield at 12 p.m.
Quinnipiac Notes
• It is the first time that Quinnipiac will play for the MAAC Title.
• Centerfielder Brian Moskey went 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs, three runs scored, and a homer.
• Liam Scafariello was 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs, and three runs scored.
• Scafariello and then Moskey homered in the third to tie the game at three.
• Andre Marrero provided some insurance with a two-RBI double in the eighth.
• Six different Bobcats scored and all nine starters had at least one hit.
• Colin Donnelly tossed three innings of scoreless relief to pick up his fifth win.
Manhattan Notes
• Manhattan suffered its first loss of the 2019 championship.
• The Jaspers got on the board first with a three-run first inning. Matt Padre, David Moffett and Alex Cerda drove in the runs.
• Nick Cimillo was the lone Jasper with multiple hits with three in four at-bats. The freshman scored twice.
• Joe DiTorrice (3-2) took the loss for the Jaspers after allowing three earned runs over 3.1 innings of relief of Nick Massa.

Game 8 (Elimination): MAAC Baseball Championship

Trey McLoughlin pitched a complete game three-hitter to give Fairfield (34-24) a 5-0 win over Canisius (24-29) to stay alive in the MAAC Championship and play Manhattan in another elimination game Saturday evening.
Fairfield Notes
• McLoughlin sent down 14 Golden Griffins, which is a new career-high for McLoughlin, and did not allow a hit until the sixth inning.
• Five of the final six outs for McLoughlin were strikeouts.
• Fairfield scored all five of its runs in the eighth.
• The Stags had five straight hitters reach with one out—all would come around and score. Anthony Boselli plated a pair with a single and Dan Ryan had a two-run double.
• Fairfield had five players register multi-hit games.
Canisius Notes
• The Golden Griffins become the first top seed to go 0-2 at the MAAC Championship since Rider in 2015.
• Mark McKenna had two of the three Canisius hits. Both of McKenna’s hits were doubles.
• Nolan Hunt took a shutout into the eighth inning before Fairfield scored its five runs.

Third-seeded Fairfield (35-24) scored four runs in the fourth and eighth innings to beat Manhattan (26-33), 11-5, and advanced to the 2019 MAAC Baseball Championship Series against No. 2 Quinnipiac Sunday.
Fairfield Notes
• The Stags return to the championship series for the first time since winning the MAAC Title in 2016.
• Fairfield needs to beat Quinnipiac twice on Sunday to earn the program’s fifth MAAC Title.
• Fairfield’s four-run fourth put the Stags ahead for good after trailing 3-2 entering the bottom half of the frame.
• Anthony Boselli had a team-high three RBI and was one of six Stags to record multiple hits.
• Tim Zeng scored three times and went 2-for-5 from the top of the lineup.
• Dan Ryan went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
• Nick Grabek (3-2) pitched three innings of relief and surrendered one earned run to pick up the win.
Manhattan Notes
• Five different Jaspers drove in runs.
• Dominic Palma recorded a team-high three hits. Three other Jaspers had two hits.
• Ryan Takacs (1-6) allowed six earned runs over 3.1 innings in taking the loss.
