Two MAAC Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country Student-Athletes Named to Google Cloud Academic All-District First Team
EDISON, NJ – Two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country student-athletes were named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team, as named by CoSIDA. The Google Cloud Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. Marist College’s Hayley Collins and Siena College’s Sarah Forman were named to the District I First Team.
Collins held a 4.0 GPA during the 2018-19 academic year, studying psychology and special education. The sophomore finished second in the women’s 10,000M at this year’s ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, recording a time of 35:47.99. Collins also placed fifth in the 5000M (17:18.23) at the 2019 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Forman finished the year with a 3.94 GPA while studying psychology. During the 2019 Outdoor Track & Field season, Forman held the top times for the Saints in the 800M, 1500M, 3000M, and 5000M. Additionally, Forman won the 3000M at this year’s MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, finishing in 9:48.72. During the 2018 cross country season, the senior finished top 10 in six out of eight races during the season.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
