The Tritons of UC San Diego (22-13) went 4-for-10 on the power play and limited Wagner (30-10) to 2-for-9 on man-up opportunities to advance in the 2019 NCAA Women’s Water Polo Championship.
 
UCSD Notes
• The Tritons advance to play No. 1 USC in the quarterfinals on Thursday, May 10.
• Shelby Stender had a game-high four goals on five shots to lead UCSD.
• Sydney Boland and Grace Pevehouse added two goals.
• UCSD had lost to Wagner in postseason play in both 2017 and 2018 before Tuesday’s win.
 
Wagner Notes
• Daisy Nankervis tallied a hat trick for the Seahawks. Nankervis finished the season with 75 goals.
• Savannah Henshaw found the back of the net twice. The sophomore ended 2019 with 46 goals.
• Jacqui Sjogren brought Wagner to within two at 7-5 in the third quarter, but UCSD scored with 18 seconds left in the third and then again at 6:36 of the fourth to restore its four-goal lead.
• Wagner is 2-12 all-time in NCAA postseason play.
