Wilson and Battaglia Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Allie Wilson
Women’s Track & Field
Monmouth University
 
Wilson finished her Monmouth career at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships by competing in the 800-meter finals. She was named a 1st Team All-American by finishing 5th overall and crossing the finish line in a school record breaking time of 2:02.56. She became the first female student-athlete in school history to be named a 1st Team All-American twice in their career. Wilson recently graduated with a graduate degree in business administration and was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team each semester she was eligible.
 
Peter Battaglia

Niagara University
 
Battaglia had a strong season for the Purple Eagles, playing and starting in 47 games. He led the team in runs scored (30), RBI (32), triples (three), homeruns (10) and slugging percentage (.528). Battaglia batted .261 on the season and had 42 hits. Battaglia, an education major, had a strong year in the classroom and was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.
