Marist Competes at 2019 NCAA Rowing National Championships
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Marist College women’s rowing team concluded competition Sunday at the 2019 NCAA Rowing National Championships.
During the preliminaries on Friday, May 31, Marist competed in the I Eight, II Eight, and I Four races. In the I Eight, Marist finished sixth in its heat with a time of 6:42.157, five seconds faster than its time at the MAAC Championships. In the II Eight, Marist placed sixth with a time of 7:14.917. The Red Foxes would finish in sixth in the I Four, after cutting 10 seconds from their MAAC Championship mark, recording a time of 7:51.634.
Marist raced in the C/D Semifinals for its I Eight, II Eight, and I Four boats on Saturday. In the first race of the day, the I Eight finished with a time of 7:12.351. The II Eight boat would also finish in fifth in its semifinal, clocking in at 7:34.286. The I Four boat rounded out the day in fifth, finishing four seconds behind Harvard, with a time of 8:21.531.
On Sunday, Marist participated in the D Finals in the I Eight, II Eight, and I Four races. In the I Eight, Marist placed fourth with its best time of the weekend, finishing in 6:37.368. The II Eight would also see its best finish of championships, taking fourth place with a time of 6:59.099. Marist’s I Four would end the weekend for the Red Foxes, finishing in third with a weekend-best 7:42.5.
