NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara women's basketball head coach Jada Pierce has announced the hiring of Jenn Lawrence, who will serve as the Director of Basketball Operations.

"We are thrilled to add Jenn to our staff," said Pierce. "She has a solid background from her experience at Youngstown State, as well as various internships while an undergrad at Mount Union. Jenn's behind the scenes work with a program like YSU will prove invaluable. Jenn is passionate about working with student-athletes, helping to provide a great experience which aligns with the values of our program."

Lawrence most recently served as the Director of Player Personnel/Video Coordinator and Operations Assistant for the Youngstown State women's basketball team from 2017-19. In that role, Lawrence handled video coordination and film exchange, monitored the student-athletes' study table hours and academics, supervised student managers and the ball girl program and oversaw the team's community service opportunities and initiatives. Lawrence was also involved in fostering relationships with boosters and members of the local community, as well as working with the ticket office and marketing department to help recruit larger crowds. During Lawrence's tenure, the Penguins were second in the Horizon League in attendance, averaging over 1,500 fans per game.

Lawrence started with the Penguins in the fall of 2015, simultaneously serving as an intern under the Director of Basketball Operations and the head student manager. In these roles, Lawrence assisted with organizing and executing meals and travel plans, helped plan summer camps, managed practices, trained student managers, supervised ball girls and helped with video coordination.

Lawrence got her start in women's basketball during the summer of 2014 when she served as a ticket sales intern for the Washington Mystics.

"I am thrilled to join the Niagara family," said Lawrence. "With so many connections to the community, it already feels like home. I cannot wait to help Coach Pierce continue to build the program, allowing us to take flight and soar to new heights both on and off the court."

Lawrence graduated from the University of Mount Union in 2016 with a degree in sport business with a minor in business administration.
