Troy Bradford ‘89
Troy Bradford made an impact from his first year with the Stags basketball program, securing honors from the conference as well as Regional and National accolades. He earned an All-American honorable mention berth from Street & Smith as a junior and senior. In his sophomore, junior and senior seasons, he was chosen a First Team UPI Small America player (best players in the country under 6’). The guard was recognized by the MAAC coaches with placement on the All-MAAC first team as a junior and the All-MAAC second team as a senior. His regional honors included a spot on the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association All-Met team in his final two seasons with the Stags. Bradford still remains ranked among the top ten on Fairfield’s all-time scoring list, standing seventh with 1,648 points. He became only the first player at the time to score 600 points in a season when he netted 614 points in 1987-88. Bradford set a school record with his 22.7 scoring average that season, a mark that still stands today. He is also tied for seventh in free throws made (360) and sixth in field goals made in Fairfield annals.

Bradford continued his playing by joining the pro ranks beginning with the USBL. He spent the 1990 season with the Connecticut Skyhawks before moving to the Tampa Suncoast Sunblasters in 1991. After earning a roster spot in Spain for the 1991-92 campaign, he returned to play in the NBA Summer League Free Agent Division in 1992 under Detroit Piston coach Dwayne Casey and in 1993 as a player-coach.  He founded the Connecticut Stars, a team which played exhibition games against local and regional college teams before starting his own AAU Basketball Program called United Sons and Daughters (USAD) from 2007 to 2017. During that time, the program produced 25 players that went on to play collegiately including 16 that joined Division I programs.

Christine Fryer-Paprocky ‘96
Christine Fryer-Paprocky left the Fairfield University women’s basketball program as one of the most decorated student-athletes in program history. The guard started her career by collecting the 1993 MAAC Rookie of the Year honor and continued to earn conference accolades throughout her four-year stay. After securing a spot on the MAAC All-Rookie team, Fryer-Paprocky went on to receive a berth on the All-MAAC first team in 1994, 1995, and 1996. In her final two seasons with the Stags, she was honored by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association as a member of its annual All-Met team. She currently ranks sixth on Fairfield’s all-time scoring list with 1,584 points and remains the program leader in career steals with 356. She also ranks among Fairfield’s finest in career assists (3rd with 543) and career scoring average (7th at 13.7 ppg). Fryer-Paprocky’s impact was also recognized when she was placed on the MAAC’s 25th Anniversary Team for the 1990s. She was inducted into the Fairfield University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001.
