2019 MAAC Women’s Soccer Season Begins
EDISON, N.J. (Aug. 21, 2019) – The non-conference portion of the 2019 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women’s soccer season begins this weekend, with every team scheduled to play at least one game. Eight teams are scheduled to host home-openers, while the remaining three will see road action over the course of the weekend.
Monmouth University was ranked the preseason favorite, as voted on by the league’s 11 head coaches. The Hawks have won the past three MAAC Championships and will look to become the first school to win four-consecutive since former member Loyola Maryland captured five-straight from 2000-04. Monmouth’s season begins on Friday when the team hosts Hofstra University at 6:00 p.m. in West Long Branch.
Siena College starts the season on the road as the Saints visit Air Force on Friday night at 8:00 p.m. Siena is coming off a strong 2019 campaign in which the team finished as runners-up in the MAAC Championship, entering as the No. 3 seed. The Saints were picked to finish third in this year’s Preseason Poll.
Quinnipiac University was picked second in this year’s Preseason Poll after entering the 2018 MAAC Championship as the No. 6 seed. The Bobcats will open the season at home, taking on Bryant University on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Quinnipiac will look to capture the school’s first MAAC Championship since joining the league in 2013.
Marist College and Rider University were picked to finish fourth and fifth, respectively. The Red Foxes start off 2019 on the road, playing Towson University in a 3:00 p.m. game Sunday. The Broncs host Wagner College the night before at 7:00 p.m. in Lawrenceville.

- Manhattan @ Hartford – Thursday @ 6:00 p.m.
- Niagara vs UMass Lowell – Thursday @ 7:00 p.m.
- Canisius @ Elon – Thursday @ 7:00 p.m.
- Saint Peter’s vs Delaware St. – Friday @ 7:00 p.m.
