Siena’s Kibet and Monmouth’s Ragenklint Collect Cross Country Weekly Awards
Men’s Runner of the Week
Evans Kibet, Siena
Sr., Nandi Hills, Kenya
The senior helped the Siena Saints to a 1st place team finish as the top overall finisher at the Siena Invitational at The Crossings of Colonie, New York. Kibet took home first place in the men's 8K by nearly an 11-second margin, posting a 25:53.6 on the site of last year's MAAC Cross Country Championships. The Nandi Hills, Kenya native was the first of four Siena men's runners to land inside the top-10 in the race.
Women’s Runner of the Week
Sammi Ragenklint, Monmouth
Fr., Tinton Falls, NJ, Monmouth Regional
Making her first collegiate meet debut, Ragenklint won the freshman/sophomore 4K with a time of 14:38:48, posting a 22-second gap from second place. For composite results combining all the women’s’ races, Ragenklint finished second overall at the Monmouth XC Kickoff.
