Marist’s Moehringer and Monmouth’s Karabin Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Men’s Cross Country
Moehringer was Marist’s top runner at the Marist Season Opener on Aug 31. He finished in third place overall with a personal best of 19:18.4 in the 6k and led the Red Foxes to a dominant victory over MAAC rivals Iona, Manhattan and Siena. Marist placed four runners in the top 10 of the competition. Moehringer is a business administration major, who was an instrumental part of the MAAC Championship Distance Medley and 4x800m relays on the track in 2019.

Women’s Soccer
Sophomore forward Lauren Karabin helped the Monmouth women’s soccer team secure its first victory of the 2019 season with her 83rd minute game-winning goal against Fairleigh Dickinson. The goal, off an assist by Dana Scheriff, broke a scoreless tie on the road and was Karabin's first-career goal. The game was Monmouth's first of four consecutive road contests. The Hawks now sit 1-2-1 on the year.
