Iona’s Millar and Marist’s Tedeschi Receive Cross Country Weekly Awards
Men’s Runner of the Week
John Millar, Iona
Jr., Ipswich, Great Britain - Debenham / Farlingaye Sixth Form
Millar led the Gaels to a first place finish at the 25th annual Br. John "Paddy" Doyle Meet of Champions. He won the individual 8K race in 24:27.8. It is the first time Iona has won the meet since 2013. His 24:27.8 is the eighth fastest ever in MOC history. There were six USTFCCCA Regionally Ranked Teams in the event among the 18 teams competing. Millar led four Gaels inside the top 10.
Women’s Runner of the Week
Gianna Tedeschi, Marist
Jr., Skillman, NJ / Montgomery
Tedeschi placed third overall in the 5k out of 146 with a personal best of 18:17.34 at the Henry Mercer Invitational. She led the Red Foxes to a runner-up finish, beating out seven MAAC programs and losing only to national No. 22 Princeton. Tedeschi has placed top three at every race this season.
