MAAC Announces Staff Additions

EDISON, N.J. (Sept. 5, 2019) – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced the hiring of Harold Bentley III, Ryan Foley and Caroline Michalak.
 
“The MAAC is excited to announce these staff additions as we prepare for a busy upcoming academic year of championships, hosting the 2020 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds in Albany, New York and transitioning the 2020 MAAC Basketball Championships to Atlantic City,” said MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “We are eager to see all Harold, Ryan and Caroline accomplish and are confident they will be great assets to the conference.”
 
Harold Bentley III and Caroline Michalak join the MAAC as Directors of Championships. As the Director of Championships, Bentley will be responsible for regular season sport administration and conference championship management for women’s soccer, swimming and diving, tennis, men’s lacrosse and baseball. Prior to the MAAC, he most recently served as the Lead Accelerated Reader Educator in conjunction with the Sport Program Coordinator with the Atlantic City Board of Education from 2017-2019.  Bentley holds a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from Towson University (’13) and a master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Connecticut (’17).
 
Michalak will be responsible for the primary oversight of men’s soccer, golf, women’s lacrosse and rowing. Michalak joins the MAAC after serving as the Assistant Intramural Manager and Assistant Softball Coach at Buffalo State College, a role she held since 2017. She is a two-time graduate of member institution Canisius College, with a bachelor’s degree in Communications with an emphasis in Sports and Journalism (’13) and a master’s degree in Sports Administration (’18).                                                                                                                                                
 
Ryan Foley joins the MAAC as the Director of Compliance. Foley will serve as the conference’s NCAA compliance coordinator and will handle all inquiries and interactions between the MAAC membership and the national office. Prior to his time at the MAAC, Foley was as an Outreach Employee for Sport Changes Life, coordinating social media platforms for live events and assisting with brand outreach and event planning. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Saint Joseph’s University in 2017.
