Manhattan’s Hinckson and Marist’s Hand Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Sophomore Christian Hinckson average 13.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 2.0 apg this past week in helping the Jaspers open up MAAC play with three wins over their first four games. The Queens native scored a season-high 14 points in a win over Siena, finishing 4-of-5 from the floor and 2-of-2 from deep. He began the week with 13 points and four rebounds at Fairfield. On the year, he is averaging 7.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game and is shooting a 43.6 percent from the field.

Women’s Basketball
Rebekah Hand registered 18 points per game, six rebounds per game, and 3.5 assists per game on 71.4 percent shooting in Marist's 2-0 week at Canisius and Niagara last week. On January 9 in Buffalo, Hand tallied 18 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists for her third double-double of the season in the Red Foxes' 90-59 victory. She then added 18 points on 8-9 shooting in the 94-67 triumph at Niagara on January 11. On the year, she is averaging a career-best 18.4 points per game, second in the MAAC, on a 52.8 field goal percentage, second to only teammate Alana Gilmer in the conference.
