MAAC Announces Weekly Swimming & Diving Awards

Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Adam Kapusta, Marist
So., Valley Stream, NY/Minnesota
Adam Kapusta was the star of the meet, on either the men's or women's side. He just about dominated every event he competed in, finishing in first place in three events for a total of 27 points. To start the day, he notched a first-place victory in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:43.83. He then went on to win the 200-yard butterfly (1:53.41) and 200-yard back (1:53.17).
 
Men’s Diver of the Week
Raislan Aiken, Marist
Sr., Glen Falls, NY/ Glen Falls
Aiken was a driving force behind Marist's impressive victory over the Binghamton Bearcats. He continued his run of dominating the diving events, placing first in both the 1-meter dive and the 3-meter dive. He had 282.90 points in the 1-meter, and 269.29 in the 3-meter to lead the pack.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Grace Curry, Iona
Fr., Egg Harbor Township, NJ/ Egg Harbor Township
Curry took gold in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly in Iona's victory over Adelphi on Saturday. The freshman was also a part of the Gaels' 200-yard medley relay quartet that finished in first place.
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Esabelle Gervasio, Marist
Jr., Niskayuna, NY/ Niskayuna
Despite suffering a close loss to Binghamton, Esabelle Gervasio, the four-time MAAC Diver of the Week, had her best meet to the date. She had a personal record 305.03 points in the 3-meter dive, securing first place by over 60 points. She also took first place in the 1-meter five, totaling 272.40 points.
