Monmouth’s Salnave and Niagara’s Ekpiteta Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

In a 2-0 week for the Hawks, Salnave averaged 18 points and six rebounds including a 20-point night against Marist and a 16-point, eight board game in a win at Manhattan. He was 12-14 from the foul line and only missed five shots all week, including a career best four threes over the Jaspers.

Women’s Basketball
Ekpiteta has had a strong season for the Purple Eagles. She is second on the team in rebounding, averaging 7.7 rebounds per game, and is also adding 7.1 points per game. Ekpiteta had her best game of the season so far against Siena on Jan. 9. She scored 22 points, tying her career-high, and brought down 15 rebounds. She went a career-best 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Ekpiteta is earning a degree in criminal justice and has a 3.6 GPA.
