2020 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Season Begins

Edison, N.J. (Jan. 31, 2020) – The 2020 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men’s lacrosse season begins on Saturday, Feb. 1 with preseason No. 2 University of Detroit Mercy and No. 3 Quinnipiac University in action.    
 
Quinnipiac, led by Co-Preseason Player of the Year Jake Tomsik, starts its season on the road against Big Ten foe Rutgers at 1 p.m. The Bobcats were ranked third in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll, as voted on by the league’s eight head coaches. Quinnipiac (9-7, 5-2 MAAC) fell in the 2019 championship game to top-seeded Marist College to close its 2019 campaign.
 
Detroit Mercy (8-7, 5-2 MAAC) travels south to take on Jacksonville on Saturday at 12 p.m. The Titans, slotted second in the Preseason Coaches’ Poll, led the league with five Preseason All-MAAC selections.
 
Defending champion Marist (10-7, 6-1 MAAC) hosts Binghamton on Saturday, Feb. 8 to get its 2020 season underway. Co-Preseason Player of the Year Peyton Smith looks to lead the Red Foxes to their fourth MAAC Championship in program history.
 
The regular season concludes with the 2020 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship from April 30 to May 2, hosted by Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey.
