Banks, Greene Earn Pepsi Zero MAAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors

Greene averaged a team-best 17.0 ppg and 6.0 rpg in leading Manhattan to a 2-0 start in MAAC play. He shot 42.9 percent (9-of-21) from the floor, including 55.6 percent (5-of-9) from deep and 73.3 percent (11-of-15) from the line. The sophomore began the week with 13 points and seven rebounds in Manhattan’s victory at Canisius. Greene scored 16 of his game-high 21 points at Niagara in the first half and added five rebounds and two steals while going 3-of-5 from long range. He has now hit for at least 20 points twice and is averaging a team-leading 12.1 ppg and 6.4 rpg while making good on 38.3 percent from deep.

Daryl Banks III, Saint Peter’s

Freshman guard Daryl Banks III had the best game of his Saint Peter’s career in the MAAC opener against Iona on Friday, scoring a career-high 25-points - the most points in a game by any Peacock this season - and making the game-winning layup at the buzzer to beat the four-time defending MAAC champions. The Los Angeles, California native also recorded career-bests of five rebounds, two assists and two steals, while connecting on 8-of-16 field goals, 3-of-8 three-pointers and going 6-for-7 from the line, all career-high makes. Banks finished the 2-0 week by averaging 16.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
