Fairfield’s Gori and Iona’s Williams Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week

Peter Gori helped lead the Stags to a head-to-head victory over Colby College last week at RecPlex Pool. The sophomore picked up an individual silver medal in the 200M Free (1:57.44) and swam the fastest leg (24.04) for the 200M Free Relay team as the Stags set a school record in the event with a time of 1:37.9. In the classroom, Gori excels as a Mechanical Engineering major.

Iona College
Women’s Basketball
Redshirt sophomore De’jah Williams paved the way for Iona in its MAAC-opening win with a career-high 20 points over the defending league champion Quinnipiac Bobcats last Thursday. Williams shot 9-15 from the floor, including two three pointers, while securing five rebounds across a career-best 34 minutes of action.
