Canisius’ Dirrigl and Siena’s D’Angelo Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week
EDISON, N.J. (Oct. 28, 2020) – Canisius College’s Turner Dirrigl and Siena College’s Darby D’Angelo have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Men’s Cross Country/Track
Turner Dirrigl is a senior on Canisius’ cross country/track teams and serves as the chair of the MAAC’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
In his role with the MAAC, Dirrigl has helped oversee the group’s various social initiatives, including the conference’s MAAC Votes campaign that has seen more than 150 programs throughout the league become 100% registered to vote as well as its United for Justice campaign, aimed at raising awareness for the Black Lives Matter movement.
In competition, Dirrigl has numerous highlights to his credit, illustrated by a 10th-place finish in the 5-mile open race at the National Catholic Championships in 2019.
He was also a member of the 4x800 relay team that broke a 20-year old program record at the 2019 IC4A Indoor Championships with a time of 7:44.99.
In the classroom, Dirrigl is an accounting major who has been recognized as a MAAC Academic Honor Roll and MAAC All-Academic Team selection during his time on Main Street.

Women’s Soccer
A consistent offensive performer during her first three seasons on the team, D'Angelo owns six career goals and eight assists for a total of 20 points. The midfielder has made 47 starts in 59 total appearances, with a pair of game-winning scores on her record as well. A MAAC All-Rookie Team selection and one-time MAAC Rookie of the Week in 2017, she was named to the 2018 MAAC All-Tournament Team while helping the Saints advance to that year's MAAC Championship Game.
A three-time MAAC Academic Honor Roll and two-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree, D'Angelo is majoring in business and holds a 3.67 cumulative GPA, while displaying a 3.86 mark for the Spring 2020 term. She was named Siena's Female Leo Dufort Student Athlete of the Month for September 2020
