Monmouth’s Chaput and Marist’s Harrison Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week
EDISON, N.J. (Nov 18, 2020) – Monmouth University’s Sam Chaput and Marist College’s Skylar Harrison have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

The returning starter at point guard, Chaput comes off a breakout season as a sophomore where he finished third in the MAAC in assist-turnover ratio, sixth in assists and 13th in steals. His assist-turnover numbers improved in MAAC play, where he marked second with 72 assists to just 24 turnovers, a 3-1 ratio. He is MU’s third returning scorer and dished out 107 assists a season ago. The Quebec native has been active in speaking out for Black Lives Matter throughout the offseason.

Skylar Harrison, a middle blocker from Ashburn, VA was named CoSIDA Academic All-District following last season. Harrison also made the MAAC All-Academic Team following her sophomore year, and has been a member of the MAAC Academic Honor Roll both as a freshman and a sophomore.
The business administration major has made the Dean’s List in all four of her previous semesters at Marist. In addition to her school work, Harrison also serves on Marist’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and has spent time volunteering for Girl Scouts Sports Sampler, Habitat for Humanity, and Grace Smith House.
On the court, Harrison has played an important role for the Red Foxes each of the last two years. In 2019, she played in 20 matches and appeared in 49 sets. For the year, she had a career-high 46 kills on a .219 hitting percentage. For her career, Harrison has totaled 91 kills, 53 total blocks, 21 digs, and seven service aces.
