Rider’s Powell and Quinnipiac’s Free Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student Athletes of the Week
EDISON, N.J. (Dec. 16, 2020) – Rider University’s Allen Powell and Quinnipiac University’s Amani Free have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Powell played in 25 games as a freshman and has posted a 3.37 GPA as a sports management major with an international business minor. After establishing a career-high of nine points last season at UMass, Powell is off to a hot start this year, including a career-high 17 in the Broncs' near upset of St. John's on Dec. 8

Women's Basketball
Quinnipiac junior Amani Free had a breakout game against Army over the weekend. The Syracuse, New York native recorded new career highs with 16 points and seven rebounds while shooting an impressive 7-13 from the field with two three-pointers. She has already matched her rebounding total from all of last season and is on track for a career year with the Bobcats.
