Fairfield’s Edwards and Canisius’ Brown Named Hercules Tires MAAC Student-Athletes of the Week
EDISON, N.J. (Dec. 2, 2020) – Fairfield University’s Lewis Edwards and Canisius College’s Shaunae Brown have been named the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athletes of the Week.

Men’s Tennis
A perennial starter for Fairfield Men’s Tennis, Lewis Edwards is also the co-President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In this role, Edwards was instrumental in the creation and implementation of the “We Are Stags” and “One Team, One Family” initiatives that drive the mission and vision of Fairfield Athletics. Edwards’ efforts also include the Stags’ commitment to social justice and voter registration drive.
A 2020 Fairfield graduate with a degree in Finance from the Dolan School of Business, Edwards is currently pursuing an M.S. in Finance at the University. He earned Dean’s List honors in the Spring of 2020.
Shaunae Brown

Women’s Basketball
Canisius women’s basketball sophomore Shaunae Brown made an immediate impact both on the court and in the classroom during her first season for the Blue and Gold. The Toronto, Ontario, native played in 29 games during her freshman campaign in 2019-20, scoring a career-high 11 points at Quinnipiac on Jan. 18. A human services major, Brown was named to the dean’s list at Canisius during the 2020 spring semester.
