Player of the Week
Isaiah Ross, Iona
Sr., Davenport, IA/Hillcrest prep (AZ)
Senior guard Isaiah Ross led the Gaels in scoring over a perfect 2-0 MAAC weekend on the road at Rider. In a pair of wins on the road, Ross averaged 21.5 points per game, shooting 62.5% from the floor and 54.5% from beyond the arc. Ross hit a pair of crucial clutch threes in the final three minutes on Saturday to ensure the Gaels moved to 3-1 in league play. 
 
His 21.5 ppg average led all MAAC performers during the week, while his field goal percentage ranked tops among MAAC guards with more than 15 attempts.
 
Rookie of the Week
Nelly Junior Joseph, Iona
Fr., Benin City, Nigeria/ NBA Academy Africa (Senegal)
Freshman forward Nelly Junior Joseph led all MAAC rookies with 16.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game over a pair of MAAC wins against Rider on the road.  The scoring average was sixth best among all MAAC performers while the rebound number was tied for second best.
 
He shot 63.6% from the floor and also had three steals and three blocks. On Friday night, Junior Joseph had a season-best 19 points with seven rebounds. On Saturday, he tallied 13 points and nine rebounds.
