Quinnipiac’s Morris and Marist’s Weimar Named Hercules Tires MAAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week

Mikala Morris, Quinnipiac

Quinnipiac sophomore Mikala Morris recorded a pair of double-doubles in a weekend split against preseason MAAC favorite Manhattan. Morris totaled 43 points and 27 rebounds in the two games, with 18 and 10 on Friday and 25 and 17 on Saturday. The Ohio native added five blocks and four steals in the weekend series.
Rookie of the Week
Caitlin Weimar, Marist
Fr., Cortlandt Manor, NY/Hendrick Hudson
Weimar posted her first-career double-double with 14 points (tied for the team-high) and a team-best 11 rebounds in Marist's 67-48 win over UAlbany on Dec. 15. Three of her 11 boards were on the offensive glass. The rookie also shot 7-of-11 from the field, good for 63.6 percent, and totaled three blocks. The two-time MAAC Rookie of the Week becomes the first Marist freshman to register a double-double since Rebekah Hand on Feb. 18, 2017. On the year, her .657 field goal percentage ranks 15
th in the nation. She leads the Red Foxes with 30 rebounds, and is second on the team with 12.5 points per game.
