Crawford, Drame Named Pepsi Zero MAAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week

Player of the Week
E.J. Crawford, Iona
Sr., Hartford, CT/Simsbury
The Iona College men's basketball team went 2-0 this week and senior E.J. Crawford averaged 20.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He shot 55.2% from the floor 33.3% from beyond the arc. The Gaels won both MAAC games by 20+ points.
 
Rookie of the Week
Fousseyni Drame, Saint Peter’s
Fr., Bamako, Mali/Our Savior New American School (NY)
Drame led the first-place Peacocks in scoring this week after averaging a team-high 12.0 points per game and was second on the team with his 5.0 rebounds per game average. On Friday at Marist, he tallied a team-high 15 points and team-leading three steals, while also accounting for four rebounds and one block. In Sunday’s win at Monmouth, Drame chipped in with nine points and grabbed six rebounds. He connected on 66.7 percent of his field goals and 40 percent of his three-pointers in the two games during the week.
