Monmouth’s Mueller, Manhattan’s Martinez, Rider’s Bithell and Siegle Named Geico Indoor Track and Field Performers of the Week
Men’s Track Performer of The Week
Kyle Mueller, Monmouth
Gr., Brick, Nj/Mates
Fifth-year senior Kyle Mueller broke his second Monmouth indoor record of the season, this time in the 3000-meters. The Brick, New Jersey native crossed the line in a time of 8:12.79, winning the race by eight seconds.
Women’s Track Performer of the Week:
Kristen Siegle, Rider
Sr., Estell Manor, NJ/Buena Regional
Senior Kristin Siegle had another strong performance for the Broncs last week at the Albany Invitational. In the one-day event at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, Siegle third in the 800 with an ECAC-qualifying time of 2:13.90. It is the second-fastest in Rider history in the event and it is currently the second-best time in the MAAC this season.
Men’s Field Performer of the Week:
Enrique Martinez, Manhattan
Sr., San Salvador, El Salvador/Barton CC
Martinez earned a collegiate best in the men's weight throw at the Millrose Games on Feb. 6, hitting a distance of 18.37 meters. Martinez bested his former PR of 18.10 meters, set at the 2020 Metropolitan Indoor Championships, where he took home the weight throw title. Martinez finished in fifth place at the Millrose Games.
Women’s Field Performer of the Week:
Quinn Bithell, Rider
Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May
Senior Quinn Bithell had a breakout performance last week for the Broncs at the Albany Invitational. At the one-day event at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, Bithell finished second in the high jump with an ECAC-qualifying mark of 1.70m. She currently has the top mark in the event in the MAAC.
