Rider and Marist Lead After Day One of 2020 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships

Buffalo, N.Y. (Feb. 12, 2020) - After the first day of the 2020 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships, the Rider University men are at the top of the leaderboard with 74 points. On the women's side, Marist College scored 113 points through five events to lead the field.

On the men's side, the Broncs finished out the day by winning one event for the men. In the Men's 800 Free Relay, the Broncs claimed the top spot, with a time of 6:33.24, composed of Lucas Racevicius, Daniel Bonge, Matt Lequang, and Justin Carey. The Rider men also finished second in the 200 Medley Relay, with a time of 1:29.28, composed of Justin Carey, David Cooper, Cole May, and Joseph Gewartowski.

The Marist women took the lead after a strong performance from diver Esabelle Gervasio who took 1st place in the Women's 1-Meter Dive, with a score of 283.05. The Red Foxes came in second place and third place in the Women's 800 Free Relay and 200 Medley Relay, respectively.
The Rider women broke the Women's 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:41.79. The relay team was comprised of Kayla May, Kyra Schwerzler, Kylie McMahon, and Olivia Iswalt.
