Malik Johnson
Canisius College
Men’s Basketball
Canisius senior Malik Johnson is the MAAC’s active career leader in games started, assists and steals, and in December, he officially completed his undergraduate degree at Canisius College. In his final semester as a student-athlete, Johnson is currently working toward his master’s degree in sport administration.

Johnson, who has started every game for the Golden Griffins since the start of the 2016-17 campaign, ranks in the top-10 nationally in career starts, career assists and career steals. He is closing in on becoming the school’s 39th 1,000-point scorer, and he is on pace to become just the second player in the program’s 116-year history to dish out 600-plus career assists. As of Feb. 7, he ranks in the top-15 in eight different statistical categories in the MAAC, and he is one of two players in the league to be honored as the conference’s player of the week on multiple occasions this year.
