Fairfield Women Win Third-Straight MAAC Swimming & Diving Championship
Buffalo, N.Y. (Feb. 15, 2020) – Fairfield University captured the 2020 MAAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championship title after scoring 581 points throughout four days of competition at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center in Buffalo, New York.

Day 4 Highlights
- It all came down the to the final race Saturday night in Buffalo. The championship title was up for grabs in the Women’s 400 Freestyle Relay. The margin of victory for the Stags was less than a second.
- The Stags were propelled to a championship thanks to Day 4 first place finishers Maria Nitti, Morgan Hansen and a medley relay team comprised of Nitti, Ostensen, D’Alessandro and Hansen.
- Iona’s Nick Cavataro and Fairfield’s Anthony Bruno were named Co-Coaches of the Year.
- Monmouth had a strong showing on Day 4 with two individual titles for Camryn McHugh and Tahlia Botha in the Women’s 200 Backstroke and Women’s 200 Breaststroke, respectively.
- The Iona women had a strong performance at the 2020 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships. The week was culminated with a second place finish, edging out the Marist Red Foxes by a score of 557 to 549.
