Rider Men Win MAAC Swimming & Diving Championship for Ninth-Straight Year

Buffalo, N.Y. (Feb. 15, 2020) – At the end of the final day of competition, Rider University men hoisted the MAAC trophy after finishing first for the ninth-straight year. The Broncs scored a total of 725.5 points over the four-day competition.

Day 4 Highlights
  • Rider won a total of 10 events through four days of competition.
  • On the final day of competition, Rider finished first in the 1650 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 400 Medley Relay and the 1-Meter Dive.
  • Rider senior Justin Carey, who was named Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet, continued his dominance. He placed first in the Men’s 100 Freestyle and anchored the Men’s 400 Freestyle Medley that also placed first.
  • Fellow Bronc Kyle Iorizzo placed first in the mile event (1650 Freestyle) with a time of 15:21.89.
  • Dillon Walles had another stellar day on the diving board placing first in the Men’s 1-Meter Dive and also claimed the Men’s Most Outstanding Diver of Meet award.
  • Bryant Bulldog FuKang Wong set another record in the pool breaking the Men’s 200 Breaststroke with a time of 1:57.52.
