Men’s Track Performer of the Week
Alexander Moore, Manhattan
Jr., Colonia, NJ/John F. Kennedy
Moore was Manhattan College’s top finisher in the men's 400-meters at the 2020 Boston University Valentine Invitational on Feb. 15, recording a time of 49.11 and earning 41st place in the race. The performance is tied for the MAAC's top time of the season.
 
Women’s Track Performer of the Week
Grace Sparrow, Iona
Fr., Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury
Grace Sparrow took part in the 1,000-meter event and clocked in a career-best time of 2:56.16. The rookie from Glastonbury, Connecticut finished 24th in the race and is now an ECAC qualifier. She was racing at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center for the annual David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
 
Men’s Field Performer of the Week
Anu Awonusi, Manhattan
Jr., Dublin, Ireland/Kilkenny College
Awonusi won the men's shot put at the Boston University Valentine Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 15 hitting 17.62 meters. Awonusi beat UConn's Todd Stueber, his closest competitor, by .76 meters and again set the standard for the MAAC's top shot put distance of the season.
 
Women’s Field Performer of the Week
Chibuzo Amonu, Monmouth
Jr., Ewing, NJ/Ewing
Monmouth Junior Chibuzo Amonu broke a six year old record in the weight throw on Saturday at the Monmouth Winter Invite with a throw of 60' 02" (18.34m). Amonu won the event and then went on to finish third in the shot put with a throw of 12.81m. The Hawk throwers had themselves a strong day as a unit with the women going one-three-five in the shot put and one-three-four in the weight throw. Amonu broke not only the school record but also the facility record set by Garden State Track Club's Alina Duran of 61' 3.5" set in 2014.
