Marist’s Milam & Oberdorf Named Senior CLASS Award Candidates

Two Red Foxes In Top 30 For Prestigious Honor

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Ali Milam and Claire Oberdorf of the Marist softball team have been both selected as candidates for the Senior CLASS Award, it was announced Tuesday. Milam and Oberdorf, who are both captains on this year's team, are among 30 candidates eligible for the award.
 
Milam has been named First Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and Second Team All-Region each of the last two seasons. She currently in the program's career top 10 in both home runs and runs batted in. Milam has been selected to the MAAC All-Academic Team each of the last two years, and is a three-time Dean's List honoree. She also had the winning design for the T-shirt given away to fans at this season's women's basketball Play4Kay game.
 
Oberdorf was named NFCA Top 10 Freshman, MAAC Rookie of the Year, and First Team All-MAAC in 2016. She has been named Second Team All-MAAC each of the last two seasons, and is a three-time MAAC All-Tournament Team selection. She has been named to Marist's Dean's List each of the past two semesters, and is a three-year MAAC All-Academic Team selection. During her time on campus, Oberdorf has been involved in numerous community service activities.
 
About The Senior CLASS Award
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be an NCAA Division I senior with achievements in community, classroom, character, and competition. CLASS is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School.
 
The 30 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists later this season. The finalists will be voted on by media, coaches, and fans. The winner will be announced during the 2020 Women's College World Series.
