2020 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championship Begins Saturday
New York, N.Y. – The 2020 MAAC Men’s & Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships return to the to the New Balance Armory Track and Field Center in New York, NY for the 17th consecutive year Feb. 22
nd and 23
rd.
On the men's side, Monmouth University looks to win its sixth MAAC Championship Title in seven years, while the Monmouth women chase their seventh-consecutive championship.
The Monmouth Track and Field team, the 2020 preseason favorite, look to continue their dominance after the men took home 3 major awards last year while the women claimed two of their own. The Hawks went on to sweep the Field Most Outstanding Performers led by Coach of the Year for both Men and Women, Joe Compagni.
This will be the first MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships for Mike Nelson, the Hawk’s new head coach.
The top team to dethrone the Hawks is Rider University. On both the men’s and women’s side, the Broncs were picked second in the preseason poll and took home 10 weekly awards throughout the season. Iona College and Manhattan College men and women all found themselves inside the top five of the preseason coach’s poll while Quinnipiac University jumps in at number four for the women and Siena College came in at number five for the men.
