Monmouth Men's Track & Field Named MAAC Indoor Champions for Third Consecutive Year
New York, N.Y. – The Monmouth University men’s track and field team claimed the program’s third-straight MAAC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship. The Hawks defended their title run from the past two seasons at The New Balance Armory Track & Field Center after two days of competition.
The Hawks totaled 220 points to claim the program’s sixth title.

Day 2 Highlights
- Anu Awonusi of Manhattan was the only person to throw in the 17m range with a distance of 17.36m, which helped him claim the Men’s Most Outstanding Performer Field Events Award .
- Iona swept the top five of the 3000m race as Jac Hopkins, the Co-Men’s Most Outstanding Performer Track Events Award winner ran 8:24.06 ahead of his four teammates.
- Iona also swept the top three medals of the mile run where Jack O’Leary finished with a time of 4:09.49 to pace the competition.
- Sam Aviles, a freshman from Rider, was named Men’s Rookie of the Meet Track Events Award Winner because of his win in the Men 60m Hurdle with a time of 8.09.
